LASCIA CH’IO PIANGA recreates the baroque still life aesthetic within contemporary smartphone culture. The portrayed figures remain almost motionless, absorbed by their screens. Their bodies appear suspended in passive poses, resembling digital tableaux.
Through minimal movements and carefully composed framing, the image evokes classical painting traditions. Without social media audio, the scenes could be mistaken for static images. Sound becomes the only indicator of constant digital activity and information flow.

The work explores how contemporary subjects are continuously stimulated, connected, and observed, while simultaneously remaining isolated. Although embedded in global networks, each figure appears emotionally and physically distant.
By merging baroque visual language with everyday screen behavior, the piece reflects on attention, passivity, and solitude in digital-mediated life.
